Orphaned girl Yan Xi enters the Lu Mansion, starting out as a stove-tending maid. Enduring and resilient, she takes the opportunity of delivering meals to learn characters and reasoning from the scholar Zhou Chengming, and relies on her bravery and grit to save a young master who fell into the water, rising to become the young master's study companion.
