The Whole Village Laughs at Me for Raising Fish, I Sold Fish Across the Country
After being laid off by a major tech company, Chen Mo returns to his village in disgrace, where everyone is waiting to laugh at him. He offers no explanations and quietly transforms an abandoned, filthy fishpond that has been neglected for three years into a high-tech fish farm, using his phone to see through the water and monitor its quality and predict fish diseases. When he harvests the fish for the first time, the pond is full of huge, plump snakehead fish, leaving the entire village speechless. When Wang Laowu, the village bully, tries to force him to sell at rock-bottom prices and blocks his way, Chen Mo takes matters into his own hands, livestreaming and arranging deliveries to sell his fish nationwide. From being mocked for having 'studied himself stupid' to leading the entire village to prosperity, Chen Mo responds with just one sentence: 'When you laughed at me back then, I already knew—I was on the right path.'
