Awakening to find himself back in the bitter winter snow ridges, Chu Ziheng vows to turn over a new leaf for the sake of the wife and daughter he once hurt so deeply. To feed and clothe his family, he takes his bow into the mountains, hunting wild game, gathering medicinal herbs, fighting wolf packs, and digging up wild ginseng, stepping by step building a new life from their dilapidated cold cottage. But old debts from the village catch up, plunging his wife into crisis once again. On a snowy night, he stands cross-bow in hand before the door, swearing that this lifetime, no one will dare touch his family.
