This season has 1,000 episodes. Five modern special forces soldiers open their eyes to find themselves transformed into outsiders in a frontier village of the Northern Song Dynasty. With guns in hand and crossbows under construction, they turn the village militia into an army. When Western Xia raiders attack, they fight back; when the Yaos attack from Panshan and wreak havoc, they crush them. When the wealthy Qin merchant family hires assassins to ambush and kill them, they break into the Qin residence at night, kill the family patriarch and execute the young master, then help the orphaned girl Qin Hongying take charge of the household and swallow up the Qin family's wealth, grain supplies, and trade routes. They refuse even an official post of the eighth rank, insisting on carving out their own dominion. Lin Zhao intends to use Qinghe Village as his foundation and cultivate a towering power in the turbulent northwestern lands.
