Diagnosed with a terminal illness and running out of time, night shift security guard Jiang Fan is unexpectedly dragged by pop diva Xu Qingya to register their marriage. On the verge of death, he activates a system, using exchanged classic songs from his past life to participate in a talent show, crushing capital-backed default contestants and exposing dark secrets all the way. From a looked-down-upon bottom-layer nobody to the national champion shouting "Chinese pop style is the coolest," Jiang Fan uses talent to prove that grassroots can also defy fate against the heavens, and music and dreams never ask about background.
