Before the Tide Falls, She Learned to Make Salt
At 19 years old and weighing 180 catties, Xu Nanzhi was long trapped in body shaming. Her mother sent her to an island salt field, placing her under the discipline of Chen Yanpo. From resisting and running away, she slowly learned salt-making labor, no longer filling her inner void with food. She filmed videos selling handmade salt, facing cyberbullying, trademark squatting, and the crisis of the salt fields being bulldozed. With the help of others, she bravely fought to protect the salt field, lost 52 catties, established a salt field cooperative, and finally broke free from others' evaluations, finding her own footing by the sea.
