Veteran Lu Ye returns to his hometown to pursue ecological farming. After spending three years building a sizable free-range chicken farm in Panlong Village, he faces a sudden change in the land-lease agreement. Decisively, he moves all his equipment and chickens to neighboring Baiyun Village to start anew. With scientific farming methods and antibiotic-free breeding technology using Chinese medicinal herbs, Lu Ye's farm earns recognition from the provincial academy of agricultural sciences and is designated a provincial-level green farming demonstration base. He leads the establishment of an ecological cooperative, helping villagers in surrounding areas start businesses together. Later, Lu Ye returns home to oversee rural revitalization, leading the villagers in building roads and developing local industries.
