Five-year-old A Man is regarded as a bringer of misfortune by her biological parents, who favor boys over girls, and is abandoned at a dilapidated temple. Fortunately, she is adopted by Shen Si, a poor hunter. Nobody expects this timid little girl to be able to understand the voices of mountains, rivers, and all living things. She predicts dangers in the mountains, finds medicine to save her older brother, and leads the way to precious mountain treasures, helping the Shen family escape poverty. Jealous of their good fortune, her biological parents come to snatch her back, while local gentry and bullies fear her abilities and repeatedly set traps to frame her. Protected by her adoptive parents and older brother, A Man uses her extraordinary ability to hear the mountains to expose scams, uncover an illegal mine, and save the entire village. The little girl once despised as a bringer of bad luck finally becomes everyone's beloved lucky treasure and finds a true family who cherishes her.
