Shen Jiayu, the legitimate daughter of the Duke of Zhenguo's estate, enters the palace by imperial decree, immediately shaking up the dynamics of the six palaces upon receiving a high initial rank. She and the Emperor Pei Yan are originally cousins. From initial familial care and support, through enduring heavy palace storms such as poisoning plots, assassination attempts to save the emperor, and power struggles for the empress position, the two move from hesitation and probing to gradually developing true affection. Together, they break up harem conspiracies, and Shen Jiayu is promoted step by step, ultimately winning the emperor's exclusive favor and supreme glory in the harem.
