Farmer Li Qingfeng goes bankrupt and is abandoned by his wife. He takes his son and daughter back to his hometown to seek refuge with his older brother, only to be pushed away by his mean-spirited sister-in-law, who has even taken over his old family home. Just when he is at his lowest, a golden insect bites him, awakening hundreds of pounds of supernatural strength. He builds a wooden shelter and raises his children with sheer determination, using his newfound strength to venture into the mountains and gather wild produce, which he sells through a long-term partnership with a restaurant. His son possesses a self-healing ability, while a black panther secretly watches over them. After repeatedly overcoming difficulties caused by troublesome neighbors, Li Qingfeng meets the gentle Lu Xiaoyue. In the end, he repays all his debts, builds a new home, establishes a mountain-produce business, and leads the entire village to prosperity.
