Shu Yu and He Lingxiao have been in love for five years, yet the kitchen countertops in their bridal home were customized according to the height of his foster younger sister, Qiao Wan; her wedding dress was tried on and altered in size by Qiao Wan; and a dinner gathering featured peanut desserts that would trigger her peanut allergy. Heartbroken, Shu Yu breaks off the engagement and lists the house for sale. He Lingxiao tries to sweet-talk and coerce her into compromising, even embezzling company funds to let Qiao Wan buy the bridal home. Shu Yu collects evidence and jumps ship to another company; He Lingxiao's embezzlement is exposed and he faces sanctions, while Qiao Wan's pipe dreams are shattered. Shu Yu's career rises, and she meets Feng Shiyue, who respects her, with a new kitchen customized to her height—no one is worth making her bend her waist.
