Shen Zhiwei makes a living running a stall beside the high-speed railway station, quietly raising her five-year-old daughter, Shen Yuanyuan. But her peaceful life is turned upside down when she happens to rescue the elderly Madam Lu, who has fainted from low blood sugar. Lu Jingchuan, the powerful head of the Lu family, is stunned when he sees Yuanyuan and realizes how much the little girl resembles him. A custom lapel pin he lost six years ago further convinces him that he and Shen Zhiwei share a significant past. Lu Jingchuan takes the initiative to propose a paternity test, but Shen Zhiwei remains deeply guarded. After being set up six years ago, she raised her daughter alone and wants nothing to do with the Lu family. The test confirms their blood relationship, while the truth about how a distant relative deliberately interfered and fabricated stories to drive the two apart begins to emerge.
