Young Lin Ye discovers an ancient notebook and a wooden token among his grandfather's belongings, and follows the clues to venture into the Star Pulse Forest, a secret realm in Shennongjia. Here, he meets Ling Xi, the silver-haired guardian of the secret realm, and a guiding ice-blue spirit deer, while simultaneously being pursued by the Dark Star Beast faction. Lin Ye gradually learns his life story: his mother was the previous guardian who split her star soul to seal the Dark Star Beast. To resolve a millennium-long crisis, he embarks on a trial journey to find three secret realm keys, faces his inner self during the adventure, and ultimately chooses to accept both light and darkness, using his own star soul as a bridge to save all living beings in the secret realm.
