Humiliated, divorced and broke, orphan Nina applies to be the step-mom for hire of Mafia Don Leon Marconi, wins little Gio over with a Spider-Man doll, and signs a marriage contract. His tenderness eases her depression, and when he names her his wife at a gala, Easton's family collapses. Drug-addled Easton kidnaps Nina and Gio; Leon drives him off, they marry for real, and Gio proves to be his sister's son. Carmen's revenge fails as Nina gives birth to Dahlia, and Easton dies by his own bomb.
