Lin Ye, a young man from modern times, travels back to the third year of Chuping in the Eastern Han Dynasty. A system assigns him a mission: he must protect Diao Chan and marry her to return to the modern world. Knowing that Diao Chan is destined to become a pawn in a chain of schemes, he does everything he can to rescue her from her predicament.
