Li Shan returns to her hometown to help her mother run their long-established river snail rice noodle shop. The mother and daughter carefully select their ingredients and have supported supplier Chen Yan and her daughter for years. Later, when they cannot agree on supply prices, Li Shan switches to a reliable source, and the shop continues to thrive. Feeling resentful, Chen Yan joins forces with nearby shopkeepers to spread rumors and sow doubts among customers, forcing the shop to suspend business temporarily for an inspection. Li Shan keeps surveillance footage and purchase receipts to prove her innocence, while customers at several small restaurants that have long bought river snails from Chen Yan begin suffering from gastrointestinal problems.
