With his wedding approaching, Ye Zhou invests the entire 300,000-yuan down payment he had saved for a house in the city, takes out another million yuan in loans, and spends heavily upgrading the irrigation and drainage systems of his cherry orchard, having predicted an unprecedented torrential rain disaster. His fiancée, disappointed by his decision, breaks off their engagement, while the entire village mocks him as crazy and foolish for ruining his future. When a once-in-a-century flood finally strikes, every orchard in the village is submerged and destroyed, leaving the farmers with no harvest. Only Ye Zhou's orchard remains productive thanks to its excellent drainage, allowing him to sell his exclusive produce at three times the usual price and make a fortune. Rather than seeking revenge, he repays hostility with kindness, establishes a modern agricultural cooperative, and leads the entire village toward a new path to prosperity.
