Song Ran, the legitimate daughter of the Prime Minister's household, is framed by her half-sister, forced into losing her virtue, and left pregnant before marriage. Her father drives her out of the family home, and cruel servants force-feed her poison, killing her. A medical doctoral expert from the 21st century then transmigrates into her body. With a medical space of her own, Song Ran knocks out the wicked servants and escapes. Along the way, she encounters the funeral procession of Prince Rui, Xiao Jue. To avoid being dragged back, she lies that she is carrying Xiao Jue's child and pretends she intends to die for love. Moved by her devotion, the Empress orders her to marry into Prince Rui's household and keep vigil for Xiao Jue. While mourning him, Song Ran discovers that Xiao Jue is not dead at all but has merely been rendered unconscious by poison. She immediately uses her portable medical space to save him. However, when Xiao Jue awakens, he suspects that Song Ran married into his household with ulterior motives.
