In 3077 AD, alien creatures invade, turning Earth into a wasteland, and the gods of Journey to the West fall. The Great Sage is reincarnated as A Kong, but his memories are sealed, leaving him a wandering refugee. The Chaos Monkey Hair within his body is the key to fighting the alien creatures. Ling Yue, a technologically enhanced human; Su Wanqing, the female lord of the apocalyptic city; and A Li, an alien-human hybrid holy maiden, each seek A Kong for different reasons. Putting aside their disagreements, the three accompany A Kong on a journey to find the treasures of the Journey to the West, unlock his memories, and fight the alien forces centered around the remnant soul of Wutian, while emotional bonds and the secrets of the Journey to the West intertwine along the way.
