Young clockmaker Lin Yuan repairs an antique French mantel clock for town mayor Lu Xiuyuan, only to find a brass voucher from fifty years ago lodged in the spring barrel's crevice. The clues point toward his master Chen Bo, old ledgers left behind by his father, and a past sealed away by the small town. During the lean years, several elders risked transporting emergency supplies, also leaving behind wounds caused by past events and silence. After investigating the truth, Lin Yuan hands the ledgers and old items over to the local history exhibition hall, allowing the past to be objectively preserved. He renovates the clock shop, passes down his father's watch-repair craftsmanship, and takes on an apprentice, making the stopped clocks keep time once more while carrying the town's memories and craftsmanship forward.
