Shen Yunwan is falsely accused by her stepmother and stepsister of being a bringer of misfortune. On her wedding day, she is forced to marry a beggar living in a ruined temple. However, amid the confusion of the wedding processions, she accidentally ends up at the Regent's residence and unexpectedly becomes the wife of Pei Jin, the powerful Regent. Their marriage begins as a transaction, and they join forces to turn the tables on the Shen family. As they gradually earn each other's trust and protect one another amid household power struggles, court rumors, and the battles on the northern frontier, Shen Yunwan also proves her worth through her identity as 'Mo Yin' and her exceptional knowledge of the northern territories.
