Su Sheng, the legitimate daughter of the Su family in Jiangnan, has suffered from congenital poison since childhood. No medicine or treatment has ever worked. Desperate to find an antidote, she sets off alone for Miaojiang, carrying the Gu Compendium left behind by her mother. Along the official road, she 'picks up' a young man from Miaojiang who goes by the alias A Yun. Sharp-tongued and theatrical, he nevertheless protects her at every turn. The two travel together, constantly bickering as they face one danger after another, and gradually develop feelings for each other. Only upon arriving in Miaojiang does she discover that the young man who has been by her side all this time is actually the very young lord of Miaojiang she has been searching for. Thus begins a sweet, heartwarming romance that brings healing to both.
