Twelve years ago, Lin Chen, an orphan, was taken in by Zhang Guilan, a pancake-stall owner who spent all her retirement savings to fund his entrepreneurial dreams. Twelve years later, Lin Chen returns to the old street in glory as the chairman of a restaurant group. Though he appears cold and ignores his benefactor, he secretly investigates who masterminded the campaign to drive the pancake stalls out of the street. At his company's opening banquet, he bows deeply before everyone and acknowledges Zhang Guilan as his mother, exposing the conspiracy of Wang the Fatty and others. He turns his mother's humble pancake stall into a recognized brand, gives back to the entire neighborhood, and leads the old street to a genuine revival.
