Xiong Yang, a geological engineer, quits his job and returns to his hometown to lease a barren mountain he calls “Gold Mountain.” Using his professional expertise and clues passed down by his ancestors, he searches for geothermal hot springs. Surrounded by villagers' skepticism, pressure from investors, and bureaucratic roadblocks, he persists with exploratory drilling to break through the impasse. Eventually, a rare, high-temperature geothermal resource bursts forth, transforming the fate of the village and igniting fierce conflicts over resource development and the struggle for capital.
