Ji Yu unexpectedly arrives in a famine year, starting over from an old thatched cottage with her mother and younger brother. By chance, she obtains a spiritual spring space and the ability to communicate with animals, thereby getting acquainted with numerous animal partners such as field mice, pheasants, tigers, cats, and dogs. Relying on diligence, wisdom, and integrity, she gathers mountain goods, makes delicious food, runs a business, supports her younger brother's studies, and leads her family step-by-step to live in a new house and lead a good life. Along the way, she treats animals kindly, cherishes family affection, repays neighbors, and at critical moments transmits news and helps everyone watch out for and help one another, living through the difficult famine life warmly and with hope.
