Xia Zhen and Dudu are forced to leave the Canglan Domain and are swept by fierce winds into the Wutian Prison, where they meet two rogue immortal sisters, Cang Yan and Cang Yue. They make a pact using the Yuanxu Ring and agree to travel together. Over a hundred years of cultivation, they venture through trials across the Five Domains, unravel a witch-soil curse plot, seize the Myriad Nations' Cloud Ruins, and recruit allies from the Demon Abyss, piecing together seventy percent of the truth along the way. For three hundred years, Jing Yanchen has carefully orchestrated schemes, seeking to seize the authority of ascension and using the Yuanxu Ring to sacrifice his lifespan. Xia Zhen drives a wedge between the Jing and Wei alliance with an abandoned-piece decree, while her cultivation partner, Su Qinghan, rushes to her aid with witchfire. At last, the Gate of Passage opens. Xia Zhen sacrifices her left arm and uses the debt of the ring to turn its backlash against its master. The gate collapses, the debt is settled, and she finally returns home.
