Lu Wangchuan, who does business abroad, returns to Liupu Village and builds a pool under the river embankment stone steps to release and raise pufferfish fry in order to commemorate an old friend. Villager Pan Yue'e passes by, secretly scoops away the fish fry, and stews them into fish soup as ordinary miscellaneous fish. Lu Wangchuan discovers that the fish fry have been stolen, immediately posts notices and broadcasts warnings, and goes to her door to inform her that pufferfish are highly toxic, but Pan Yue'e stubbornly refuses to admit it.
