Jiang Ye is hunted by Root on the border of the Land of Fire. At the brink of death, he awakens a system and disappears from the world. In a chaotic space, Jiang Ye learns the rules of the Fortune Plundering System and chooses the Assassin pathway as his special advantage. He decides that his first world to visit will be the world of The Smiling, Proud Wanderer. After analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of that world, Jiang Ye travels to the outskirts of Fuzhou City and discusses with the system which sect to join. Rejecting the system's recommendation to join the Huashan Sect, he decides to join the Sun Moon Holy Cult to pursue a greater ambition. He heads to the Lin family's old residence in Fuzhou to obtain the Evil-Repelling Sword Manual before traveling south.
