Chen Mancang used his mother's medicine money to save a Pixiu. This Pixiu could not conjure gold and silver out of thin air, but it could see through the traps behind wealth. It repeatedly reminded Chen Mancang to avoid stolen silver and fake land deeds, thereby drawing the covetousness of local rich households. Facing heavy monetary temptation and forcible plunder, Chen Mancang united with neighbors to see through the fake debt deeds. He gradually understood that true wealth is never piled-up silver taels, but a good original heart and human warmth. Finally, the Pixiu left with relief, and the Chen family lived steadily and diligently, guarding the days of fireworks in peace.
