Red Silk and White Funeral Banners Share the Road, Weddings and Funerals in the Same Village
Entrepreneur Lin Qingfeng returns to his hometown solely to fulfill his father's wish of building a new house. However, the Zhao family deliberately makes things difficult for him, refusing to sign the neighbors' consent documents required for construction and humiliating him publicly. Their actions anger his father, who suffers from lung cancer, and send him to the hospital. Lin Qingfeng fights back strictly within the law, reporting the Zhao family's illegal construction and legally leasing his own family's land to establish a chicken farm. He later donates his ancestral land free of charge to build a village-level columbarium, steadfastly respecting legal boundaries. Meanwhile, the greedy Zhao family takes out loans to finance a wedding, only to have their property legally seized and the marriage celebration fall apart. In the end, Lin Qingfeng completes his new home, is elected village director, and leads the villagers toward shared prosperity. The fallen Zhao father and son finally repent and return to honest, hard work. The story conveys the positive values that good and evil have their rewards and that success is built through virtue.
