Fisherman Zhou Hai is severed from relations by the Zhou family and driven out of his home, living in a dilapidated shack by the sea with his gravely ill daughter. When driven to a dead end, he picks up a cute baby, An'an, from the sea. An'an can understand the heart's voices of the seawater and fish and shrimp, helping Zhou Hai catch precious marine products. The two fight against wharf bully Wang Tianba and the selfish Zhou family members, discovering a secret dark sea fishery. Zhou Hai leads the villagers to develop ecological aquaculture, and relying on An'an's special ability, shakes off poverty and becomes the fishing king who leads the entire village to prosperity.
