Song Yu is a truck driver raising his daughter, Dudu, who has leukemia, all on his own. His ex-wife, Lin Xiao, seemed heartless when she left years ago, but she actually had her own reasons. His neighbor, Liu Heng, repeatedly schemes against him, first trapping him into paying highway tolls through an okra delivery order, then teaming up with his mother to make his life difficult at every turn. Song Yu calmly sees through and overcomes every scheme. When a new freight opportunity arises, he uncovers a conspiracy involving a factory supervisor and Liu Heng, who have been colluding to take kickbacks and frame him. Impressed by his integrity, the boss, Chen Jianguo, offers him support, helping him gradually rise from an ordinary truck driver to a transportation business partner. Nurse Su Nian provides warmth and support to father and daughter along the way, while the secret behind his ex-wife's departure slowly comes to light. In the end, everyone who schemed against Song Yu pays the price for their own actions.
