Su Wanying came to the Red Flag Production Brigade in the countryside, where Xu Zhiming deliberately spread rumors and smeared her. After a public confrontation exposing the lies, she won the trust of the villagers and the Party branch secretary with her medical skills. Lu Zheng secretly discovered that Xu Zhiming had been in contact with the Su family in Beijing, and someone behind the scenes was instigating the targeting of Su Wanying. On the other side, due to material shortages, Cao Yu asked Xu Zhiming for food, and Xu Zhiming could only stall for time temporarily. Far away in the capital, Su Zhenhai received the reply letter, sent out money, and resolved to trap Su Wanying in the countryside to protect Su Wanyue's future, as a secret contest quietly unfolds.
