Lu Chen is reborn in 1980, and the regret of failing his wife and daughter in his previous life is etched into his bones. This time, he is determined to mend his ways and protect his little family. Drawing on the wilderness survival skills he honed in his previous life, Lu Chen applies to the production brigade for a permit to hunt as a sideline occupation and heads deep into the Laoye Ridge mountains with a woodcutter's knife on his shoulder. Amid the snow and wind of the ancient forest, he rescues an injured white wolf, and the two become companions.
