Female entrepreneur Gu Xiao hands over the company to her husband to manage on the eve of the group's listing, but at the bell-ringing ceremony for the listing, she catches her husband Lin Chen in an affair with Li Wenting, a poor student she sponsored. To completely control the Gu Group, Lin Chen has long been giving Gu Xiao slow-acting poison and joining forces with his mistress to transfer assets. With the help of her assistant Xu Qing and loyal official Zhao Yanxiu, Gu Xiao plays along, fakes her death by poisoning, and lures Lin Chen into exposing his ambition at the shareholders' meeting. At the critical moment, Gu Xiao appears, and relying on surveillance evidence and the will layout, completely smashes Lin Chen's conspiracy to seize power.
