Listening Snow Peak seals away the great demon Lord Shen, and the sixty-year term is drawing near. Their master, Xuanji, orders his disciples Su Wanyue and Gu Yunzhou down the mountain to Qingstone Village to retrieve the demon-suppressing stone key, the Liyuan Key. Guided by a white crane, the two descend the mountain and encounter a traveler named Shen Yan. Upon reaching the village, they discover that the Xuanji in the hall is actually Lord Shen in disguise, while their real master has trapped himself at the bottom of an ancient well. Shen Yan is himself an incarnation of Lord Shen, and a fierce battle erupts. After enduring countless dangers, the group harnesses the power of heavenly light to reseal the ancient Guixu Well with the Liyuan Key. Xuanji exhausts his life force and transforms into mountain snow. The surviving young man and woman take up the duty of guarding the mountain, protecting Listening Snow Peak and the mortal world below.
