Yun Yaoyao, a cannon-fodder character who has entered a novel, publicly tries to assassinate the tyrant Tushan Jin at a palace banquet. But when she strikes, their souls unexpectedly swap bodies. In the emperor’s body, she attends court, sets it in order, and deals with corrupt officials. Bound together, they work to foil the plots of Prince Ze and the Yun family while constantly tricking and bickering with each other.
