In Yunxi Village, the wicked bully Chen Fuhai, eager to climb high into a wealthy family, forces his daughter to remarry a black-hearted official and gentleman, drives Lin Xiaoyun, an impoverished orphan who married into the family, out of the house, and sets up three deadly life-and-death contracts! Facing the mockery of the entire village and a dead end set by the powerful, Lin Xiaoyun—who received the grace of saving his life from the Jiang family and was transformed from a nine-heavens spirit sovereign into a mortal fetus—awakens strongly. With his mortal body, he resists heaven's might, commands the common people to flatten treacherous waters to build a giant trading bridge, publicly presents evidence of crimes to execute corrupt officials and bullies, and forces his snobbish father-in-law to kneel on the spot and kowtow in repentance. Faced with the sixth-rank high official position and generous stipend bestowed personally by the governor, Lin Xiaoyun calmly resigns and retires to seclusion, composing a legendary tale of a poor grassroots underdog defying the heavens to change his fate and great kindness moving the nine provinces!
