Wen Lingfeng, the true daughter of the Xuantian Sect, has her mutated Ice Spirit Root forcibly extracted through a conspiracy between her biological parents and her master, who give it to Wen Rou, the fake heiress. Betrayed by everyone she trusted, she falls off a cliff and abandons her sect. Unexpectedly, she awakens to her identity as the reincarnation of the God of Slaughter and obtains a Slaughter Path cultivation system. She can devour her enemies' primordial essence to increase her cultivation, but must use spiritual wine to suppress her inner demons. Along the way, she slaughters demon beasts and turns the tables on pursuers from the Qingyun Sect. When the Heavenly Dao's Golden Ranking reveals her identity as the God of Slaughter, the entire cultivation world is thrown into turmoil. The Qingyun Sect launches an all-out pursuit, while Wen Lingfeng strikes a deal with Yutian, the lord of the Demon Realm City, and heads to Black Abyss City. Meanwhile, the stolen Spirit Root inside Wen Rou gradually begins to show signs of backlash.
