Set in an ancient style small town, eight hundred Liang of disaster relief silver grain goes missing under bizarre circumstances where the locks are not broken and the seals are not broken. Constable He Zhibai and pharmacy keeper Chi Wangshu uphold a rigorous and truth-seeking attitude, starting from minute physical evidence—abnormal sealing wax, scattered rice husks, special dyes, and hidden cart tracks—unpeeling layer by layer and tracking step by step. Dauntless before power and authority and steadfast in justice, they ultimately expose the corruption conspiracy of grain merchant association head Ji Yuancheng, rescue the upright accountant, recover the relief silver, and guard the people's life-saving grain. The story highlights the belief that justice will surely win, conveying the positive energy of faithfully performing one's duties, being clean and upright, and taking responsibility for the people.
