Wen Yao is calm and easygoing. She accepts her family's arrangement and marries Gu Cize, the young master of the Gu family. On their wedding night, Gu Cize suggests sleeping in separate rooms, and she simply goes along with his wishes, carrying on with her painting, calligraphy practice, and caring for her cat.
