Chen Fan transmigrates to a small village during a famine and becomes a frail, sickly young man whom everyone looks down upon. At the brink of despair, he awakens a mysterious Family Tree: the more prosperous his family becomes, the stronger he grows. To ensure his family has enough food and warm clothes, he hunts for food, clears and cultivates farmland, repairs houses, and builds walls. He also leads the villagers through their hardships and helps them build a new home together. From one person, to a large family, and eventually to an increasingly prosperous village, he sets out to use every harvest and every brick and tile at his disposal to build a prestigious clan that will endure for a thousand years.
