To save her seriously ill younger sister, Zhu Weixi accepts a commission from Jiang Wanyi to approach Gu Yanhan and impersonate the long-lost eldest daughter of the Gu family, only for Gu Yanhan to discover her true identity. Gu Yanhan cannot stand Zhu Weixi's deceit, but as he investigates the truth, he is moved by her resilience. Though he constantly acts as if he dislikes her, he willingly becomes a pawn in her hands, clearing obstacles from her path. Gu Yanhan's enduring favoritism and devotion gradually break down Zhu Weixi's defenses. Two calculating souls slowly shed their disguises as they face off against one another in a battle of wits.
