Shen Mingyue, the legitimate daughter of the Shen family, shares a single body with two souls: her older sister has a fierce and decisive temperament, while her younger sister is gentle and kind. Using the pretext of a fateful disruption, the Grand Preceptor lures and deceives Shen's father and mother into sealing the formidable older sister inside a jade pendant, leaving only the younger sister to control the physical body. Partial to their own, the parents bring back the illegitimate daughter Shen Mingzhu, and together with Mammy Qin and others, oppress the true second young miss of the Shen family in every possible way. In a desperate situation, the seal of the jade pendant is broken, and the older sister awakens and returns to seek justice for her younger sister, settling accounts with the wicked servants and biased parents in the inner quarters of the Shen mansion. Connected in heart and mind across the jade pendant, the two sisters join forces to counter the Grand Preceptor's conspiracy, going through a life-and-death game to break the doomed curse of the dual souls' demise.
