An evil dragon lurks in Heishan Pond, harassing the surrounding people year-round. Shen Mu originally possessed the skill of carving wooden dragons and breathing life into them by dotting their eyes, and once took an oath never to carve dragons again. But the evil dragon kidnapped his son; to protect the village, Shen Mu decided to carve a dragon once more. Although the wooden dragon created the first time severely wounded the evil dragon, it could not withstand the fierce fire. The whole village worked with one heart, donating farming tools to melt and cast iron scales and iron claws to build an armored wooden dragon, and the children also carved small wooden dragons to help. The evil dragon disguised itself as an outsider to come and sabotage, but everyone worked together to see through the trick. Dragons emerged en masse to protect the local soil and water, returning peace to Heishan Pond.
