Zhao Chengnan unexpectedly awakens the Five Emperors' divine powers. After escaping, he helps Yao Yingying break a family-destruction crisis, and the two fall in love. To exact revenge, he uses metaphysical arts to subdue Shanghai tycoons, sweeps through the Huang family, and executes his enemies with his own hands. After his cultivation breaks through, he awakens the memories of his past life as Jiang Ziya, takes in Daji, allies with the Chang family immortals, and uncovers the old grievances of the Investiture of the Gods. Ultimately, he wipes out the three families, only to discover that the Investiture Roll is dormant, and the mystic world storm has only just begun.
