Gao Yaqiu, a senior high school girl, wins the city's only guaranteed admission quota to Tsinghua and Peking University, but is secretly photographed by the runner-up Lin Yutang getting into head teacher Tao Ze's car on a rainy day, spreading the rumor that she "used heavy money to bribe the teacher to buy the admission." Gao Yaqiu is unable to clear her name, suffers school-wide isolation and disciplinary demerit notices, and her admission quota is suspended. After Tao Ze returns from a competition, he retrieves backend records to expose Lin Yutang's rumors. In the end, Gao Yaqiu's admission qualification is restored, and Lin Yutang receives a major demerit and has her admission qualification cancelled.
