Five-year-old Yaya's broken purse can connect to the modern era. Starting from picking half a spiced egg in the garbage pile, to discovering wild vegetables are priced like gold in the modern era. She carries a small back basket shuttling between two realms, from one spiced egg to a full barn of grain, from the brink of desperation to curling smoke from kitchen chimneys. The mountain is still that mountain, but life day by day has got a flavor.
