Lin Yan, an outer disciple of the Qinglan Sect, finds a young beast, Xuan Tuan, covered in scars on a snowy night. Ignoring the disgust of others, he cares for it with all his resources, gradually discovering that this picky and clingy little fellow is actually of the ancient Golden Scale giant beast bloodline. From being ostracized within the sect, to adventures in the Hundred Beasts Ridge, awakening at Chilu Mountain, and battling in Duanjian City, Lin Yan and Xuan Tuan accompany each other and grow along the way, protecting each other amidst hunts and trials, until finally all beasts roar in unison, and man and beast stand side by side walking towards a broader world.
