During a severe famine, modern veterinarian Zhao Tiezhu unexpectedly time-travels and becomes a good-for-nothing despised by everyone in Kaoshantun. Facing famine, bullies, and life-and-death crises, relying on his exquisite veterinary skills, hunter's martial prowess, and modern breeding knowledge—starting from saving a dystocic mother donkey—he gradually wins the trust of the villagers. He leads everyone to establish a collective breeding farm, promote fine breeds, prevent and control epidemics, uncover the corruption conspiracy of the Feng family father and son, and guard the lifeline of the entire village. In troubled times, he harvests love, family affection, and career, and also leads the barren village from the brink of despair toward a prosperous rebirth.
